Essential Boxing Equipment for Every Boxer

- Boxing Gloves
It would be pretty hard to train without some necessary boxing equipment.
The first boxing equipment you need are a speed bag and a heavy bag to throw punches at daily.
A mirror is essential boxing equipment, so you can do shadowboxing. This type of boxing equipment allows you to develop agility.
A workout suit is necessary boxing equipment when you go jogging, especially since many boxers go jogging in the early hours of the morning when it is quite chilly.
The shoes you need as boxing equipment for the ring will be different of course. A well-calibrated weighing scale is a very important piece of boxing equipment because boxers fight based on what weight category they belong to. This gives you a clear idea of where you are at your training, especially if you are training to become a professional boxer.
A groin-guard (like a sport cup) is very necessary boxing equipment for male boxers (but naturally not for female boxers), along with a head-guard and mouth guard. Among these three, the mouth guard and head-guard are the most important boxing equipment. The mouth guard prevents your teeth from getting accidentally knocked out by a blow to the head, and a head-guard prevents your head from being knocked about too much during the sparring session.
Of course, during real pro matches, no head guards are allowed, only mouth guards. There are speed bag gloves, heavy bag gloves, and sparring gloves that all boxers have to use at some point. You also need hand wraps to wrap your wrists and knuckles with prior to putting your hands in the gloves, as another type of precautionary boxing equipment. But of course the most essential boxing equipment is your own willpower, the ability to take punches and return the same to your opponent, and willingness to devote yourself to training.
A. Choose a Martial Arts School That Teaches You How to Survive
Get into a good martial arts school that teaches you how to survive! Don’t spend years learning useless forms or how to use weapons that were popular in ancient societies. Find a school with a curriculum that emphasizes overall fitness, self-defense, and survival!
Most martial artists will tell you that your chances of surviving abduction once an attacker gets you into his car are slim to none. On Wednesday, July 28, 2004, Larissa del Mar Fiallo, Miss Dominican Republic, was assaulted by two men who tried to kidnap her in the parking lot of a shopping mall. Combat sports schools such as boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, MMA, judo, and jiu jitsu are very good places to learn, because in most cases, you get a sense of reality in the training.
The first is application for the street. Combat sports are just what the name says, a sport. Not so in the street. In the street there are no rules, in fact things considered foul play in a combat sport are probably the best techniques for the street. So if you’re in a combat sports school find an instructor that can teach you the logic and the crossover from the ring to the street.
If you attend a school where there is reckless abandon in the training or you constantly are fighting far more superior students, it’s only a matter of time until you get hurt. It is also harder to defend yourself (impossible with serious injuries) when you are hurt. Ancient warriors invented martial arts training to better their chances on the battlefield. Pushing your body and mind is part of martial arts training, but so is keeping your body healthy and safe. Most people are concerned with their safety in an increasingly uncertain world. Ms. Fiallo’s years of judo training paid off. Are you ready to fight for your life?
B. Necessary Precautions to Consider When Coaching Amateur Boxing
In boxing, as in any other contact sport, close supervision is imperative to avoid unnecessary accidents.
In virtually every high school and college or university in the United States a boy intending to compete in basketball or football must have a certificate of physical fitness. The same precaution must be taken for a boy who wishes to box.
A well-padded ring enclosed properly by ropes is an absolute essential. Never permit boys to box where there is a chance of falling to a hard floor or against objects which might injure them. Every coach should insist that his boys wear headgears, mouthpieces, and protective cups at each boxing workout.
Permit no exceptions. If a mouthpiece slips out, or a headgear becomes improperly adjusted, time should be called to replace the mouthpiece or to properly adjust the headgear. No boy should ever be allowed to box even a single round without properly bandaged hands. It is a grave mistake to permit boys to pair off indiscriminately as boxing partners.
All rule books, whether for amateur boxing or professional fighting, provide that a doctor be in attendance at ringside. Call on this man to examine carefully each boxing team candidate before he actively engages in the sport; have him observe the boy at any time you have reason to suspect any injury or illness; and require that each boy undergo examination the day of a match. The National Collegiate Athletic Association Boxing Guide has been carefully and thoroughly prepared.

Boxing Hall of Fame
In 1982, Canastota, NY residents chose to honor Carmen Basilio, one-time welterweight and middleweight champion, and his nephew Billy Backus, 1970 welterweight title holder. It was this single project that sparked the enthusiasm needed to explore the possibility of creating boxing’s inaugural hall of fame and museum. In 1989, the project was completed with two dozen former boxing champions on hand.
The International Boxing Hall of Fame held it’s ribbon cutting ceremony on what is a major tourist attraction to this day. Among them, legendary boxing great, Muhammad Ali. Since that time, the International Boxing Hall of Fame has added an additional wing to the museum and an event pavilion, which sits adjacent to the hall. Each year, in early June, the International Boxing Hall of Fame holds it’s annual induction ceremony to highlight the four-day celebration of the sport of boxing and it’s legendary athletes.
One of the most impressive aspects of the International Boxing Hall of Fame is it’s memorabilia shop, which offers a rare opportunity for autograph collectors to own some amazing items. Everything from autographed boxing gloves to a post, robe or speed bag is available for purchase. The Everlast boxing robe, which sells for $275.00, features 23 autographs and is available through the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s website.

Intro to Boxing Champions
Did you know that boxing is sometimes called as ‘pugilism’? And it is generally called as English boxing or Anglais boxing. If the fist fighting never end before an agreed number of rounds, then the winner is chosen either by the judges’ score cards or by the referee’s decision. Modern boxing slowly evolved in Europe, principally in Great Britain, UK.
In certain countries with their own fighting sports, the game is known as English Boxing and in countries like France it’s called French boxing. For instance, boxing is shown in Sumerian relief arts during the 3rd Millennium B.C, while an ancient Egyptian relief at Thebes; it depicts the spectators with fist fighters, both arts depict bare fisted contests. Boxing or Fist fighting is also described in various ancient Indian texts such as the Vedas, Mahabarata and Ramayana, as well as during the excavations made in Harappa and Mohenjadaro.
For the game of Boxing, there are two globally recognized boxing halls of fame; they are IBHOF - International Boxing Hall of Fame and WBHF - World Boxing Hall of Fame, the IBHOF is a widely recognized boxing hall of fame. In 1989, the International Boxing Hall of Fame was opened in Canastota.
The first inductees in 1990 included famous boxers like Benny Leonard, Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Henry Armstrong, Archie Moore, Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. Other world class boxing figures are Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Duran, Eusebio Pedroza, Ismael Laguna, Carlos Monzon, Rocky Marciano, Azumah Nelson, Pipino Cuevas and Ken Buchanan.
